DSV has opened a $90 million logistics complex in Laredo, Texas, adding capacity for freight moving between the US and Mexico, FreightWaves reported. The 853,000-square-foot facility brings transport, warehousing, customs brokerage, stock management and distribution into a single location. DSV announced the opening on Wednesday as part of its wider investment in North American cross-border logistics.
The multi-client site sits alongside Interstate 35 in Laredo, which FreightWaves describes as one of the busiest US gateways for commercial trade with Mexico. DSV began construction in July 2025 on a 49-acre plot in Majestic Realty’s Port Grande Logistics Park. The wider industrial development covers 2,000 acres. The new complex accommodates cross-docking, e-commerce fulfilment, distribution and cross-border transport, alongside its inventory management operations.
Customs-related capabilities include bonded warehousing, Foreign-Trade Zone storage, US customs services for northbound shipments and Mexican customs processing on site. According to the report, these services are intended to shorten delays, simplify clearance and give shippers better visibility over goods travelling between the two countries. Those benefits are presented as the purpose of the integrated offering, rather than as measured results from the newly opened operation.
The expansion comes as FreightWaves’ SONAR data points to favourable negotiating conditions for shippers in the Laredo carrier market. The outlet reported that the Outbound Tender Rejection Index stood at 5.10% on 21 October, down from 8.15% a month earlier. FreightWaves characterised that position as giving shippers solid leverage in negotiations with carriers.
DSV has also recently opened an office in McAllen, Texas. Together, the Laredo and McAllen investments extend a border network that already includes Brownsville, El Paso and Los Indios in Texas, plus San Diego in California. Josh Summers, DSV’s chief executive for North American contract logistics, described the Laredo development as part of the company’s strategy to expand through scale and innovation. DSV’s global network employs approximately 150,000 people across more than 90 countries.
